Understanding the Conflict Cycle and De-escalation Strategies
Tue, August 11 20261:00 PM - 4:00 PMThis professional learning session builds staff capacity to understand and respond effectively to student escalation using the Conflict Cycle framework. Participants will examine how adult responses can unintentionally escalate or de-escalate behavior and learn practical strategies to interrupt escalation and support student regulation. The session focuses on recognizing stages of escalation, using proactive and in-the-moment de-escalation strategies, and aligning responses to function and student need. Participants will leave with practical strategies and a plan for consistent adult responses across settings.
-
Behavioral Data Collection: Using Data to Inform Student Support
Tue, August 11 20261:00 PM - 4:00 PMThis professional learning session supports educators in effectively collecting and using behavioral data to improve student outcomes within an MTSS framework. Participants will explore different types of behavioral data that can be gathered in classroom and school-wide settings, and learn how to select appropriate data collection methods based on student need. The session emphasizes the importance of accurate data collection and analysis to guide decision-making for students with behavioral challenges. Participants will be introduced to practical tools for data collection and analysis and leave with resources to support implementation in their own settings.
