Description

Many educators and administrators have studied the research on Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and Complex Trauma. The common response is “This is fascinating, now what do I do with it?”

The National Child Traumatic Stress Network has researched the impacts of Childhood Trauma on learning, leading them to develop Attachment, Regulation and Competency (ARC). ARC identifies core concepts of intervention and breaks these concepts down into key skills and targets. It is a comprehensive application that can be adapted to a variety of settings, fitting the needs of individuals and groups, and those who work with youth exposed to complex trauma.

Attendees of this workshop will learn the 10 building blocks of the ARC model. Because the framework is flexible participants will be able to apply these concepts to their classroom, office or practice. There will be opportunities to interact with colleagues and brainstorm ways to implement the framework into your classrooms and work environment.
