Paraeducator Assessment Test
Paraeducator Assessment Test
Title I Certification for Paraeducators
Description
The Paraeducator Assessment measures the skills and knowledge in reading, writing, and math possessed by prospective and practicing paraprofessionals. It also measures their ability to apply those skills and knowledge when assisting in classroom instruction.
The NWESD is using The Master Teacher: Paraeducator Online Assessment, a 2-part assessment that consists of 105 total questions.
- Reading, Writing, & Math - Instructional Support: Evaluates the paraeducator's ability to support reading, writing, and math instruction.
- Reading, Writing, & Math - Knowledge and Application: Evaluates the paraeducator's knowledge and skills to solve problems in reading, writing, and math.
When both assessments are passed, this program will provide paraeducators with certification to meet Title I Requirements for assisting in classrooms in Washington. At the time of registration, potential paras will receive access to 150+ Master Teacher professional development on-line courses and will be able to choose any area they wish to explore for the time their license is active.
- 13 of these courses are specifically designed to prepare you for taking the Title I assessment exam.
- There are two practice tests in the bundle that you may take as many times as you wish.
Paraeducators may utilize these preparation courses at home on their own. However, the assessment is proctored and only taken at the NWESD.
The NWESD will be scheduling proctored testing days each month in Anacortes. Test times will vary from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm or from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. There will also be occasional full-day options. Please note that space is limited to four participants in the testing room at a time. Participants must pre-register to obtain a spot - no registrations will be accepted on-site the day of testing and there is no waitlist.
A password is required to register and to obtain access to The Master Teacher platform - please contact Kristi for more information on registration and to obtain the password.
Note:
- There is a cancellation fee of $20.
- Any cancellations made within 48 hours of your test date will not receive a refund.
- You can transfer to a new test date without penalty by contacting Kristi 48 hours before your current test date.
- These courses are not available for clock hours through the NWESD.
Payment with credit/debit card only.
