Pathway Year 1 provides expert support and guidance for teachers and administrators in learning how to implement WRS effectively with students. Participants also complete the prerequisite for certification training. 

WRS supports college- and career-readiness standards by providing students who have a language-based learning disability with the foundational and language skills that are necessary to access grade-level text. This comprehensive program can follow students from grade to grade, as needed.

The components of this three-day, 18-hour training include:

For Teachers:

1. In-person WRS Introductory Workshop
2. Access to the WRS Learning Community at Wilson Academy (for all participants completing the WRS Introductory Workshop)
3. 1 Virtual Kickoff Session with Wilson Credentialed Trainer
4. 3 Virtual Support Sessions with Wilson Credentialed Trainer

For Administrators:

1. Pathway Kickoff Session
2. Access to a WLT Literacy Advisor, includes guidance on "pathway" approach, as well as implementation of an intensive reading intervention
3. WRS WINPrin for Dyslexia Friendly Schools: Three Part Series (open # seats for Spec Ed Admins and Building Principals)
4. Certification Information Session
