Presenters
- Polly Myers
Description
This fully asynchronous course explores the links between school garden programs and STEM learning. It also offers an exclusive opportunity to view Bullfrog Films' short film Cultivating Kids, which showcases a successful school garden program on South Whidbey Island. The film captures how students learn STEM through gardening and looks at the broader community wide impacts of the garden. The course also offers an opportunity to review the ways that local tribes such as the Swinomish have incorporated gardening and food programs into STEM learning and environmental education, including through the Swinomish Indian Tribal Community's 13 Moons Curriculum. Completion of the course offers an opportunity to purchase 5 clock hours in STEM, Equity, or Educational Leadership.
