Description
This book study of How to ADHD by Jessica McCabe is designed to help school staff gain a deeper understanding of ADHD and practical strategies to support students with ADHD in the classroom. Through four zoom group discussions over the school year, educators and support personnel will explore key topics such as executive functioning, emotional regulation, time management, and creating ADHD-friendly learning environments. The book offers relatable insights drawn from Jessica McCabe’s personal experiences and the broader ADHD community, emphasizing the importance of personalized approaches rather than a one-size-fits-all mindset. Staff will learn actionable tools like visual reminders, structured routines, and self-compassion techniques, all aimed at fostering a more inclusive and supportive educational setting. By participating in this study, school personnel can build empathy, reduce stigma, and develop a toolkit of strategies to better meet the unique needs of students with ADHD, ultimately improving both student engagement and success. Participants will need to acquire a copy of the book to read on their own.
