Description

This fully asynchronous course is a film study of the 2019 PBS documentary The Warrior Tradition. The documentary covers the history of Native American service in the U.S. military from World War I to the present and examines the complex motivations and experiences of Native American women and men who have served. Participants will view the documentary, available on the PBS website, and complete pre and post-viewing reflection assignments in Canvas. The course offers an opportunity to purchase 3 clock hours in Equity. NWESD 189 is a state approved clock hour provider and clock hours can be used for certificate renewal in Washington State.

Deadline: Participants must complete this session in Canvas by July 15, 2026. Course attendance is taken on an on-going basis after participants finish, often within 3-5 days, though during rush periods and holiday breaks please be aware it may take up to 2 weeks.
