High-Leverage Practices for Students with Disabilities
Canvas course
Presenters
- Dr. Michelle Roper, BCBA-D
Description
This fully asynchronous course is a book study of High-Leverage Practices for Students with Disabilities, Second Edition, published by a partnership between the Council for Exceptional Children (CEC) and the Collaboration for Effective Educator Development, Accountability, and Reform (CEEDAR) Center. The High Leverage Practices (HLPs) are evidence-based practices shown to be effective with students with disabilities. Twenty-two HLPs are organized into four domains: Collaboration, Data-Driven Planning, Instruction in Behavior and Academics, and Intensify and Intervene as Needed. Each domain has pillars and embedded practices infused with culturally inclusive pedagogies. The course includes multiple-choice quizzes, open-ended discussion questions, and related resources.
The book High-Leverage Practices for Students with Disabilities, Second Edition is included in the cost of registration and will be mailed to participant upon completed registration.
This course offers the opportunity to purchase 6 clock hours in Equity or Educational Leadership.
Event Notes
The book High-Leverage Practices for Students with Disabilities, Second Edition, is included in the cost of registration and will be mailed to participants upon completion of registration.
- Please allow up to two weeks to process your course completion and attendance.
- Once your attendance has been processed, you will receive an automatic email from pdEnroller inviting you to take the course survey and purchase the clock hours if you wish to do so. Sometimes those emails get blocked by school spam blockers, so if you don't receive that then you can log into your pdEnroller account and take it from there. Just log in, go to your name in the upper right corner, go down to "Clock Hours," and on that page is a "Queue" with any surveys waiting to be taken. Once you take the survey you can then purchase the clock hours. You do not need a course completion code (some ESDs use course completion codes but NWESD 189 does not).
- Once you purchase the clock hours they will upload to your pdEnroller transcript right away and then if your account is linked to your e-Cert account they will upload usually within 24 hours (they do an upload overnight usually) and so should appear on your e-Cert transcript tomorrow if your accounts are linked.
