K-8 Novel Engineering for Remote and Blended Learning (Cohort 2)

A Standards-aligned Engineering Approach

March 15-29 2021 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM

Presenters

  • Kim Weaver
  • Clancy Wolf

Description

Even the youngest students can create authentic engineering projects with the Novel Engineering approach developed by Tufts University.  Learn how to guide your students to engineering solutions based on problems in storybooks or chapter books.  Participants will engage in an example project and get resources and tips for planning their own projects based on books students are already reading.  Adapting the Novel Engineering approach to remote and blended learning will be a focus of this course.

This course will be geared towards K-8 classroom teachers, but curriculum specialists and instructional coaches, as well as high school teachers, are also welcome.

DATES (all sessions required): Mondays from 4-6 PM, March 15th, 22nd, and 29th
Please plan to join all three sessions on a computer with speakers, microphone, and camera--this course is not designed to be joined by telephone and is not being offered asynchronously.

Registration fee of $50 includes a copy of "Novel Engineering, K-8," which we will ship directly to your address

8 STEM Clock Hours (clock hour fee applies), including 6 synchronous hours and 2 for asynchronous work between sessions
