Event Description In this course, we will:

- Discuss similarities and differences between tinkering and engineering

- Learn about the work of artists, tinkerers, and engineers from around the world

- Explore and experience a wide range of tinkering and engineering projects that students can engage in the classroom, at home, or in informal education environments like after school programs

- Connect our projects to NGSS, SEL standards, and more.

We will engage in lively discussions and active tinkering activities during five two-hour Zoom sessions, with “home-fun” tasks to expand your work between sessions.  

$15 registration fee includes a small set of materials for your “home-fun” tinkering tasks.  We will be mailing these to your address in advance of the first session; please be timely in responding to emails for address verification. 

No refunds for cancellations will be issued after materials are shipped.

Expectations:  Participants are expected to be present on a computer (NOT a phone or tablet as the live sessions include website and other interactives as well as the Zoom window) for our 5 synchronous sessions (2 hours each) and to participate by posting in our Canvas course between sessions.  No AI Assistants or Notetakers will be admitted to the live Zoom sessions.
