Librarians Supporting the New Social Studies Standards Training Tomorrow
Greetings Everyone,
Trish and I are very excited to see you Saturday Morning at 9:00 AM at ESD 105 in Yakima.
Things to remember for the training:
1. Bring a laptop! You will be working online, editing and creating documents to share with others. Smart Phones will not work. Sorry!
2. Lunch is on your own. Please feel free to brown bag-it if you would like. There are also several restaurants close to ESD 105.
3. Dress in layers. Sometimes conference rooms get cold...and hot. Have option to maximize your individual comfort.
4. Bring any lesson plans, primary sources, etc. that you would like to work into a lesson plan or unit of study.

Description
This free workshop is designed to provide Teacher-Librarians and other educators with strategies to support student learning using the state’s updated Social Studies Learning Standards (https://www.k12.wa.us/student-success/resources-subject-area/social-studies/learning-standards ). Participants will gain a general understanding of the standards, and ideas for implementing them at all levels. This training is sponsored by the WA State Library, WLA, and OSPI, and 6 free clock hours will be available to attendees.
