This webinar series is designed for mathematics educators and language specialists who work together to support multilingual learners through collaboration or coaching. The webinar series explores the importance of equitable engagement in mathematical conversations for multilingual learners.
By participating in the live webinars, participants will build their skills in
- Recognizing characteristics of equitable classroom spaces where multilingual learners engage in deep mathematical discourse
- Structuring supports and scaffolding that build students’ repertoires for communicating their math questions and ideas.
- Deciding when to guide students toward more precise mathematical language
Participation Requirements
- Attend two live, 75 minute WIDA webinars
- Engage in pre- and post-webinar work, approximately .5 hours of work.
You must attend the two, 75-min webinars to receive clock hours.
