This microlearning is designed for K-12 educators who come together in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) with the goal of fostering equitable outcomes for multilingual learners.  The information provided in this microlearning is designed to guide educators who want to come together in an equity-focused PLC that positions educators as learners to impact their daily classroom practice in service of equitable education for multilingual learners. This offering includes Equity-Focused Professional Learning Communities: A Resource Guide and complementary Study Guides that are to be used in conjunction with WIDA’s self-paced workshops to support educators as they engage in the professional learning cycle. These guides provide the tools and resources needed to create and sustain an equity-focused PLC. Within each of these guides are protocols and note-takers to support educators in creating and sustaining equity-focused PLCs. 

Upon completing this microlearning, educators will be able to: • Use the Resource Guide to establish an equity-focused PLC in their local context • Use the Study Guides in conjunction with WIDA’s self-paced workshops to support educators as they engage in the professional learning cycle

This course is open to K-12 Washington public school educators only.   Private schools who have opted into Federal Title III services may also take this course.  Contact your school administrator for details. 

Access course:

Washington State public school educators and approved private school educators  access the WIDA Self- Paced Workshops via the WIDA Secure Portal.

 If you do not have a WIDA Secure Portal account, follow the steps below:

1. Use your district email address and email WIDA Client Services Center at help@wida.us and ask for access to the WIDA Secure Portal.
2. WIDA will send you an access link within 24 hours. Set up your login username and password.
3. Access the WIDA Secure Portal.
4. Select the “Professional Learning” path.
5. Scroll to the Self-Paced Workshop tile and click on the course link 
6. Select the course and begin.
7. Finish the course and download the WIDA course completion certificate for your records.

Get clock hours:

1. Complete course survey in pdEnroller: Login to your pdEnroller account, go to your Events, click on this event, then go to the Clock Hour Checklist and take the survey. 
2. OSPI will download course completion reports from the WIDA Secure Portal monthly to verify course completion.    
3. Clock hours will be processed by the 15^th day of the month following course completion.
