Section 504 Training: Beyond the Basics!

Section 504 Training: Beyond the Basics!

Wed, November 9 2022 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM

Presenters

  • Sarah Albertson
  • Kristin Hennessey

Description

Now that you are familiar with the 504 process, it’s time to tackle some of the trickier applications of Section 504. Does a student need a 504 plan and a health plan?  Do students with disabilities have a right to participate on school sports teams? What about extracurricular activities and fieldtrips? What obligations do LEAs have to private school students under Section 504? And as COVID-19 has evolved, how does this impact district responsibilities under Section 504? Answers to these and other questions are provided in this advanced Section 504 training!

Please note that this presentation builds on our previous 504 training and assumes participants already have a firm understanding of the Section 504 process (referral, evaluations and eligibility, 504 plans, 504 plan implementation, and reevaluations).

Who should attend? Section 504 coordinators | School and district administrators | School counselors | School nurses | Open to all district and school staff
