Suggested Administrator Recertification Submittal Deadline Approaching in 27 Days!!
OSPI Certification Office suggests, at the minimum, submitting your paperwork for recertification 10 weeks prior to June 30, 2024. The suggested completion date for the Online Modules: Administrators Government-to-Government Relationships Training course is April 30th or earlier, if possible.
FYI: The modules will close in June to encourage in-person attendance to summer trainings. If you do not need these clock hours this year for recertification, consider attending an in-person training this summer. The average length of time to complete the 5-hour online course is currently 10+ hours.

Description
House Bill 1426 mandates that in renewing an administrator certificate on or after July 1, 2023, continuing administrators must attend a 5-hour Government-to-Government Relationships Training to focus on:
- Module 1 addresses A Brief History of Tribal People in Washington State
- Module 2 addresses Colonization, Historical Trauma and Boarding Schools
- Module 3 addresses Identifying Native Students in Public Schools
- Module 4 addresses Agents of Change: School Leadership Behaviors and Dispositions
- Module 5 addresses Creation of Government-to-Government Systems
- Bulletin: Certificate Renewal Requirements for All Teacher and Administrator Certificates

This course is for Administrators requiring recertification IN THIS CURRENT CERTIFICATION YEAR AND HAVE MISSED A LIVE EVENT.
THIS IS NOT FOR EARLY RECERTIFICATION. IT IS RECOMMENDED INDIVIDUALS ATTEND A LIVE EVENT IN YOUR CERTIFICATION YEAR for documentation and reporting purposes. Modules are secondary with synchronous events primary.
Please use your full given name when registering for the course in Canvas. Clock hours are awarded by a full name matching in pdEnroller.
Recommendation is to set aside an hour to complete each module. If the module is incomplete and left open on the browser, it will reset and start at the beginning.
Please read the previously posted announcements in Canvas and review modules before email facilitator with questions.
Clock Hours will be awarded weekly upon completion of the ONLINE Canvas course.
- Participants complete this ONLINE course in WAESD Canvas at their own pace.
- If you already have a Canvas account with WAESD but can’t remember your password, you can visit https://waesd.instructure.com/login/canvas and choose the ‘Forgot Password?’ link to generate a password reset email.
- Registration for this course is closing June 7, 2024. All registrants will need to have completed all modules by June 14, 2024. Modules will be closing for maintenance and adding of new material. Open date will be sometime in 2025.
