This is a free, self-paced, asynchronous course offered by OSPI that introduces educators who work with students in grades 6-12 to seven collections of resources that support Media Literacy & Digital Citizenship instruction. The course is a revised and expanded version of some of the components of a course that was offered last year.

This course is relevant for any educator, in any role, who wants to support students in grades 6-12. It consists of modules that introduce the free resources available from Center for an Informed Public, Civic Online Reasoning, Common Sense Education, CTRL-F, MediaSmarts, MediaWise, and News Literacy Project. Participants can choose to explore the collections that interest them and can then choose to do additional modules that support the implementation of resources they discovered. Participants are not required to complete every module; clock hours will be awarded based on modules that are completed. Please note that the clock hours are not STEM clock hours.
