The WaKIDS 101 Refresher Course is a 3-hour, self-paced course designed for those teachers for have already taken the WaKIDS 101 Training who would like a review of and to refresh their knowledge of the components of the kindergarten assessment including its purpose, structure, and possibility. 

Participation will take place through an online-only training course. This is a 3-hour training course includes three clock hours to be completed between August 5, 2020 and September 30, 2020. The areas covered during this refresher course will include:

1. Family connection welcomes families into the Washington K-12 system as partners in their child’s education.
2. Whole-child assessment helps kindergarten teachers learn about the skills and strengths of the children in their classrooms so they can meet the needs of each child.
3. Early learning collaboration aligns practices of early learning professionals and kindergarten teachers to support smooth transitions for children.

To begin your self-paced course:

1. Please visit https://learn.ospi.k12.wa.us/course/view.php?id=131
2. You will see your course name and the self-enrollment option.  Press continue.
3. You will be taken to the OSPI Moodle landing page.  
   1. If you have an existing OSPI Moodle account, enter in your username and password.
   2. If you are new to OSPI’s Moodle, select Create new account. Follow the instructions to create a new account. A confirmation email will be sent to your email. Please confirm your email.
4. Enter in the enrollment key WaKIDSRefresher2020. This key is case sensitive.
