This foundational training is designed for school district McKinney-Vento and foster care liaisons as well as Building Points of Contact who support students experiencing homelessness and students in foster care. The session is open to all school staff who interact with students experiencing homelessness and students in foster care, and may be particularly helpful for principals, counselors, social workers, registrars, and administrative assistants. 

Participants will:

• Learn about Washington state laws requiring Building Points of Contact
• Consider implications for supporting students in foster care
• Reflect on best practices to implement in their work
• Engage with a panel of experienced liaisons
