Washington State’s new sexual health education legislation requires that affirmative consent and bystander training be taught as a topic within a comprehensive sexual health education curriculum. In this training, we will define affirmative consent and bystander training, share ways to model affirmative consent and bystander intervention in the classroom, and explore multiple activities for classroom instruction. This training is most relevant for sexual health education being taught in grades 4 through 12.
