Description

Students learn about ways to help our region and planet through protecting water quality. Impacts, importance, properties, and management of water in the City of Tacoma is introduced through discussion and drawing. Next, students explore properties of water through experimenting with a range of watercolor techniques. Last, protecting biodiversity of life in Puget Sound is a focus as trash/packaging materials are reused to construct Clean Water Creature sculptures protected by respectful and responsible humans.

Stipend: $80

Clock Hours: 3 STEM hours

Event Notes

Educators who participate in both sessions (May 5 and May 12) receive an $80 stipend and a classroom art kit with book to replicate the learning with students in their classroom.
