Restorative Justice 101
- Sheila Kembel
Restorative Justice seeks to place a greater emphasis on the harm to relationships and less emphasis on the punitive response to negative behavior. How do we know when to utilize discipline, and to what level, and how do we know when to use a restorative justice approach and focus on repairing and building relationships within our school community? With an end goal of seeing positive behavior change in students, restorative justice can help shift negative actions into positive lessons learned.
