The Initial ESA Certification Course is intended for those who already have a certification in either nursing, social work, audiology, speech language pathology, occupational therapy, physical therapy or behavior analysis and want to take their profession into the public school setting.

During this two-day in-person course, instruction will cover: school law and society, assessment, documentation, service delivery, school health and safety issues, and resources for nurses, occupational therapists, physical therapists, audiologists, speech/language pathologists, social workers and behavior analysts.

This approved courses satisfies the requirements for the Washington State Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction  (OSPI) to complete your Washington State ESA certification.

Please note: Puget Sound Educational Service District (PSESD) ONLY provides the required course, OSPI provides the certification. Any questions regarding certification should be directed to OSPI.
