This professional learning session is designed to build leaders’ knowledge and capacity to create the conditions and structures to effectively serve all students within a multitiered system of support (MTSS). The session will explore common myths and the realities of specially designed instruction and serving students with disabilities within MTSS, provide an overview of data-based individualization and how it can be used as a decision-making framework, and explore resources on teaming and structures to support MTSS. During the session, participants will have opportunities to self-assess current teaming practices and structures and generate action steps to strengthen their building’s current MTSS. This session is designed for school personnel who play a role in designing and implementing MTSS in their buildings. Building leadership teams are encouraged to attend together.
