This professional learning introduces participants to the world of technology, engineering, and computer programming with the dynamic Edison robots.  


Participants will: 

    • Program Edison robots, troubleshoot, and complete design challenges
    • Conduct computer science and NGSS standards-based inquiries
    • Collaborate and scaffold their own lesson plans and activities
    • Explore bar code scanning, EdBlocks, and EdScratch programming languages
    • Connect robotics, coding, storybook activities, and resources to STEM careers and research


Provided at the workshop: 

    • Dinner (be sure to update your pdEnroller personal accommodations page as we will be using the information for planning)
    • Materials and supplies for the workshop
    • A free Edison robot to take with you to continue exploring and to share your new learnings with your students.

 

Materials to bring with you to the workshop: 

    • Laptop, preferred a student device
    • Laptop charger

 

Optional: Edison robot classroom kit is available for participants to check out during the school year at a minimal cost. More information will be available at the training. If you would like more information before the training, please contact Joanne Tsoi (jtsoi@psesd.org), Program Specialist. 



Event Notes

Registration fee is non-refundable for those who register after October 7, 2025.

Once course has been completed and verified by the instructor, you will need to pay the clock hour fee of $3.00 per clock hour with a $15.00 minimum per person. Verification of attendance can take approximately 30 days. 

Clock hours from this training series cannot be granted until the conclusion of the training. Please allow up to two weeks after conclusion of this training to receive an email regarding next steps on how to claim clock hours.
